This is my final message as your president, and I want to begin by saying thank you. It has been an honor to serve Buckhead Rotary and to have helped continue its growth as one of the most engaging, diverse, and energetic Rotary clubs around.
As I look back on this year, I am filled with gratitude for all we have accomplished together. From outstanding speakers and meaningful service projects to fun socials that strengthened our fellowship. The math speaks for itself…
25 new members and counting
36 meetings with record attendance
4 Rotary on the Road luncheons at our partners
1,000+ sandwiches assembled as part of the sandwich project
8 Pawsitivity Partnerships with Open Hand delivering pet food
100+ family dinners served at the Shepherd Center
7 Thirsty Thirdsdays in member's homes
3 member gatherings including a Bark-A-Cue, holiday party, and end-of-year party
366 new followers, an 18% increase
$200k+ gross raised through our Foundation Benefit
And SO much more
Whoohoo! Every success was made possible by you. Your time, talents, generosity, and commitment have enabled Buckhead Rotary to make a difference in our community while continuing to build an irresistible club that we all are proud to be part of. Thank you for everything you did to embody Rotary's spirit of service above self. You are what makes this club such a special place to belong.
I am also energized to see the strong leadership pipeline that will guide our club into the future. On July 1, Jeff Clark will officially step into the role of president, Radu Zernoveanu will serve as president-elect, and Rosa McHugh will become our next treasurer. Our club is fortunate to have such talented leaders. Their dedication, leadership, and passion for our club points to continued success in the future.
Thank you for the privilege of serving as your president. Because of you, our club is stronger than ever and is well positioned to make an even greater impact in the months and years ahead.
Shelley Hammell

Welcome to our newest member Matt Oja, sponsored by Aadu Allpere, who was inducted this past Monday. Congratulations to Emily Schickner and Eddie LaRocco on receiving their Blue Badges.

On June 11th, six members of the Scouting Committee attended a day-long visit to Camp Woodruff as guests of District Scout Executive Smith and the Woodruff staff. We were fortunate to be there for the ribbon cutting of the new Trade Skills Building where merit badges like Electricity, Painting and Home Repairs will be taught. We also visited the STEM Center where Automation and Robotics are taught. Then it was off to Kendall Crossing, the area for primitive skills. We saw blacksmithing, leather crafts and cooking in Dutch Ovens over a campfire.
All of us learned a great deal about Scouting- America and enjoyed seeing more than a thousand Scouts (male and female) participating in over a hundred activities!
Anyone interested in supporting Scouting- America through our Scouting Committee should contact Brandon Smith or Jim Breedlove. You can find their contact information here: Buckhead Rotary Roster
