Biggest news first: we presented Lifeline Pet Shelter with $40,000, year two of our three-year signature project. That makes us a proud sponsor of their Healthy Pet Event on October 17, where more than 1,200 pets get vaccinated at no cost to their owners. Twelve hundred. Get ready to spell "chihuahua" a lot!
We also welcomed Humberto Garcia-Sjogrim as our newest member - a great addition to the club!
Our club flag traveled to Nigeria in an exchange with a visiting Rotarian "OG", meaning our banner now has traveled further than most of us.
Sheffield Hale of the Atlanta History Center celebrated our 75th anniversary by adding the Buckhead Rotary charter to their archives during their 100th anniversary and told terrific stories about how Atlanta became a city the world actually wants to move to. Our charter now lives in climate-controlled splendor. It earned it.
Coming up:
• Saturday — Pawsitivity Partnership pet food de…. Bring muscles.
• Next Thursday — Thirsty Thursday at Rosa McHugh's home. Register… for the address. No registration, no directions, no beverage.
• Monday — no meeting, in observance of Yom Kippur.

Every Buckhead Rotarian can collect their 75th Anniversary Buckhead Rotary Challenge Coins at the next lunch meeting at Maggiano's:

Every member gets two — one for your pocket, one to give away. Keep one as a reminder of the Four-Way Test and of what it means to be a Buckhead Rotarian. Hand the other to someone who belongs in this club, and tell them there really is such a thing as a free lunch: bring the coin to our next meeting at Maggiano's, and lunch is on us.
