As in past years, this event will include a reception with open bar and hors d’oeuvres prior to the concert and good Orchestra seats for the concert, for a discounted price of $66 per person. 6:30 Reception in the Robert Shaw Room, Woodruff Arts Center 8:00 Concert Program: Nathalie Stutzmann conducts Tchaikovsky + Ravel
If you encounter any difficulty, just call or email to James.Paulk@AtlantaSymphony.org. About Experience the seismic power of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra with Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1, the ultimate musical thrill ride that surges with staggering virtuosity, luxuriant melodies and thundering orchestral verve. The ASO welcomes the sensational 2022 Van Cliburn medalist Anna Geniushene, who plays “with an exquisite touch and an almost infinite tonal palette” (La Scena). During the second half, Music Director Nathalie Stutzmann shifts into the kaleidoscopic world of Maurice Ravel – the ultimate orchestral colorist. Leaning into the limitless nuance of the ASO’s artistry, she coaxes the most tender playing out of the musicians for Ravel's courtly dance Le tombeau de Couperin. Turning to a different kind of dance, the Orchestra goes out with a bombastic bang with Ravel’s La valse, a haunting, volcanic dream of a Viennese waltz. opportunity to work with the children attending the Boice Ansley School, one of
our Signature Projects. We will be conducting a traditional Egg Hunt in Piedmont
Park on the Friday of Easter Weekend. Information for
Volunteers ·
If possible, please plan to join us at 10:30 on
Friday. The first group of children will arrive at 11, and we need to hide the
eggs and set up. ·
Even if you can only attend for part of the
time, please register (so we’ll count you for lunch) and let Jimmy Paulk know
your schedule. ·
We’ll be in an area of the park adjacent to the
Park Administrative Offices and Magnolia Hall. ·
For parking, use GPS address: 1322 Monroe Drive,
NE, Atlanta, 30306. Turn into Worcester Drive and follow to the garage. Park on
Level One (bottom). Walk through the circular park plaza, past buildings on
left and right, and you’ll arrive at our area. ·
The kids will be divided by age, and the first
group will arrive by bus at 11. We’ll have the egg hunt and games, with
volunteers assisting the kids – staff will direct us. ·
The second group of kids will arrive at noon,
and we’ll all have lunch (provided for volunteers – be sure to register so the
count will be right). ·
At 1:00, the first group of kids will return to
school, and we’ll have an egg hunt and games for the second group. ·
So far, the weather forecast looks perfect. But
if looks rainy, we’ll send out a message to all volunteers and re-locate to the
Ansley School. Needed:
·
We
need a volunteer or two to coordinate the games and bring simple supplies. This
can be simple traditional games like Egg-and-Spoon Races, Three-legged Races,
Sack races, etc. We’ll have a total of an hour for the Egg Hunt and the games,
so there should be time for several games. ·
Also,
we need someone to help with bringing food for the volunteers, faculty, and
staff. The school will be providing bag lunches for the children, but not the
adults. This can be simple sandwiches, chips, and bottled water.
