In Columbus, many Fridays and Saturdays were reserved last fall for all Columbus Rotary Club members and guests to volunteer on a Habitat for Humanity build. Participants included our GRSP (Georgia Rotary Student Program) students plus a number of CSU students and Muscogee and North Columbus Rotary Club members. The location was 1228 Rockbridge Drive, Columbus where Habitat had gained the land needed to build three homes for families in need. The families also participated with us as they could. No skills were necessary; skilled helpers there to help you learn how to safely do the job needed.
There was a fun Habitat Day on Saturday November 12, when kids who are too young to be on the construction site can
still participate. Out of the three houses being built, one was
sectioned off for kids' activities and participation. They thoroughly
enjoyed it, being able to write blessings to put into the construction of the
homes.
