Disaster Relief
Helping Flooded Families in Western North Carolina

When disaster strikes, Rotarians are ready to serve. Our Disaster Relief Trailer, recently made its way to Western North Carolina, providing critical support to families whose homes were devastated by severe flooding. With winter’s chill setting in, the stakes were high as families faced the daunting challenge of rebuilding and returning to their homes.

However, an army of dedicated volunteers, including Rotarians, braved the elements to assist in the recovery efforts. Collaborating closely with CORE (Community Organized Relief Efforts), our group focused on insulating homes and tackling interior finishing projects—vital steps that will soon allow affected residents to reclaim their spaces and restore their sense of normalcy. Beyond the physical work, the volunteers brought a sense of hope and community spirit to the affected area.

Together, they showed the true power of Rotary: bringing resources, expertise, and compassion wherever and whenever it’s needed most. The success of this effort highlights not only the utility of our Disaster Relief Trailer but also the invaluable partnerships and hands-on service that define the Rotary spirit. This project exemplifies how District 6900 Rotarians continue to make a tangible difference in the lives of others, whether locally or across state lines. Thanks to all the D6900 Rotarians who made the trip!
