Volunteer Opportunity! Healthy Pet Event Tomorrow!Dekalb Healthy Pet Event as part of the Pawsitivity Partnership with LifeLine Reservation Come out and support our Pawsitivity Partnership with LifeLine's Healthy Pet event. There will be 1,500+ pets and their people in attendance. This event provides the much needed vaccinations for dogs and cats as well as chipping and vouchers for spaying and neutering. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to engage with the animals as you help direct people, check them in, and assist with paperwork. Come for an hour or stay for the entire time. Families and children of all ages are welcome to attend. Volunteers will help check pets and their owners in and assist with crowd control. The event is being held at Wade Walker Park 5585 Rockbridge Rd SW, Stone Mountain, GA 30088. Rotarians, please login first or you won’t have access to tickets and special pricing available only to Rotarians. Use the first reservation block for yourself. To add a guest to your reservation, use the Add Person button. For Rotarians, type the first few characters of the last name and then pick from the drop down list.
Adoption, BBQ, and Barking Good TimesWe had a truly rewarding time partnering with LifeLine this past Sunday to help increase visibility for pet adoption and ease shelter overcrowding. This joint effort between Buckhead Rotary and LifeLine was made so much easier thanks to the support of the North Atlanta High School Interact Club, who teamed up with us to wave down cars and engage with the interested families. Thanks to everyone’s support, 38 interested families came through to explore pet adoption. We are excited for our furry friends to find their fur-ever homes! A huge thank you to our Interact Club for lending a helping paw in making this event a success. Thank you to our GRSP student, Dani Bergamo and our RYE student Leo Klein-Kraneberg for volunteering at the event! And we had a fun time at the Bark-A-Cue with Rotarians and their guests enjoying a balmy afternoon under a spacious tent while sharing a delicious barbecue meal and connecting with new and old friends. It was a barking good time. Thanks to Rosa McHugh and the Chastain Park Conservancy for the use of the tent and restroom facilities, much appreciated by us humans. The dogs of course preferred the trees.
