Creating Joyful Moments

We have partnered with The Lumistella Company to spread holiday cheer! Buckhead Rotarians can purchase Elf Plushee Pals® at a special discounted price of $8 each (regularly $13.95). These toys will be donated to the 94 children attending The Boyce L. Ansley School, which serves students who have experienced or are currently experiencing homelessness. You can make your purchase here: https://buckheadrotary.org/event/9097

For every toy purchased the Lumistella Company will donate another in a one-for-one match. We are excited to put a smile on the faces of these deserving children. We plan to deliver the toys to The Boyse Ansley School in time for the holidays.

10/24: Message from the President

What an inspiring story Christa Pitts shared! She and her twin sister transformed a beloved childhood tradition into a global phenomenon. We were honored to have her speak with us and hear her leadership insights from the founder and Co-CEO of this successful Atlanta-based company. Kudos to Miriam Falaki for skillfully facilitating this fireside chat and posing such great thought-provoking questions. I was thrilled that so many Buckhead Rotarians showed up, dressed in pink to honor Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Join us in thanking Christa for a fantastic meeting by commenting and sharing the LinkedIn post here.

Three Great Causes United for GOOD!

What a great turnout for our first ever delivery with LifeLine and Open Hand.

Our three organizations joined forces to fight food insecurity in a new way: by feeding both people and their pets. In the first month of this ongoing effort, Rotary volunteers and their guests delivered 53 bags of free dog and cat food to 30 families, along with 200 meals, 10 baskets of healthy groceries, and 10 packages of nutritional supplements for an additional 30 families.

We launched the initiative recognizing that feeding and caring for a pet can cost over $30,000 over its lifetime, an expense that can force some owners to skip meals or give up their pets, causing shelter overcrowding. Partnering with Open Hand, which already delivers nutritious meals, made it a natural fit to include pet food to help address food insecurity for both people and their pets.

LifeLine provided the pet food and joined in the deliveries alongside Buckhead Rotarians. This monthly effort helps keep people and their pets together, recognizing that pets play a vital role in their owners’ mental and emotional well-being.

If you missed out on this month’s delivery date, now is your chance to sign up here.
