RSVP Today! Governor Kemp, February 23 Meeting

Exciting news! The speaker for our meeting on February 23rd will be Governor Brian Kemp, accompanied by his wife, Georgia’s First Lady, Marty Kemp. (Our originally-scheduled event at Shepherd Center will be rescheduled.)

As you might imagine, there will be tight security for this meeting. We are required to give the Governor’s office a list by February 19th of all the people who will attend the meeting, so it is imperative that all members register themselves and any guests before the close of business on February 18th.

There are only approximately 120 seats for this event, so please register immediately to secure your spot. Note we will not be able to admit any last-minute Rotarians or guests, and registration will be closed to both once we reach the seating limit. Attendance is limited to Buckhead Rotarians and their guests until February 16th, after which the general public will be able to register, so don’t delay.

To register, click here and select “Will Attend” button for the event. Click the “Guest” button to add your guest.

Message from the President: Love is in the Air

Buckhead Rotary hosted a fun, educational, and creative pre–Valentine’s Day event at the Boyce Ansley School for its 95 students in grades K–6, benefiting LifeLine Animal Project. Students made toys for shelter cats and dogs and created Valentine’s drawings to show their affection for individual animals. A special guest foster dog, Jolly Boy, gave students the chance to enjoy some hands-on time, and the day concluded with Valentine cookies for all. This project was made possible in part by a grant from The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International to support education.

Thank you to our fabulous volunteers; Sam Alston, Karla Arriola, our GRSP student Dani Bergamo, Anne Breedlove (Jim’s wife), Miriam Falaki, Kathy Finnn, Molly Guenther, Joe Hammell (Shelley’s husband), Beth Howell, Jimmy Paulk, Maddie Puhy, Ty Tippett, Carl Wilhjelm and most especially Anne Stuhler who made this day possible with all her coordination leading up to this event.

Pawsitively Delightful: Saturday, February 21

Lend a paw (or a hand) through our Pawsitivity Partnership bringing together Buckhead Rotarians supporting LifeLine's mission to keep pets with their people. We are delivering pet food to those in need. We will meet at OpenHand for an orientation and then each carload will hit the road to help our furry friends and their people.
