Doggone Good Time was Had By All!

40 volunteers, 25 minutes and 500 pounds of dog food. Thank you to everyone who showed up and helped us break up 40-pound bags of dog food into smaller bags to be distributed to foster families. We filled a huge need and with all our volunteers, we were able to accomplish what would have taken the staff two weeks to do. It was a fun time filling bags and building fellowship. We enjoyed a terrific lunch, organized by Kari Kirkley, of fried chicken and blue and yellow Rotary themed cupcakes. We also donated canned pumpkin to be used for cat and dog lick mats to help relieve boredom and stress for the shelter animals.

“The food bagging your group accomplished today will truly make a difference and save the Pets for Life team a tremendous amount of time.” Audrey Shoemaker, Director Fulton County Shelter

Additionally, Buckhead Rotarians were featured prominently in the June 3rd Northside Neighbor Article, “Fulton County Animal Shelter Over Capacity”. The article stated the Pets for Life program provides much needed supplies to keep pets with their people. This article highlighted the benefit of the Buckhead Rotary program we created, our Pawsitivity Partnership with LifeLine and Open Hand, where we deliver pet food to those in need on the third Saturday of every month! Thank you to everyone who has participated to fill this growing community need.
