Message from the President: March 12, 2026

March has truly been a “Service Above Self” kind of month for our club, with Buckhead Rotarians who are volunteering across all three of our signature projects. From Dog for a Day to the Family Dinner at Shepherd, members have been stepping up to make a difference in our community. If you were unable to join one of these events, there’s still time to get involved. Sign up for the LifeLine Pet Food Delivery with Open Hand on March 21st or the Easter Egg Hunt with the Boyce Ansley School on March 27th, two great opportunities to serve and connect with your fellow Buckhead Rotarians.

Let’s keep the momentum going and make March the month Buckhead Rotarians step up, show up, and serve our community.

Two Ways to Volunteer and Help Pets and their People…

Pawsitivity Partnership with LifeLine and Open Hand on March 21st

If you’ve already volunteered with Open Hand to deliver pet food to LifeLine families in need, you know how meaningful and impactful this initiative is. If you haven’t yet had the chance to participate, please consider joining us on March 21st at 10 am for an inspiring two hours of service supporting members of our community experiencing pet poverty.

Bring a friend or family member or come on your own, everyone is welcome! When signing up, please indicate whether you’d prefer to serve as a driver or an assistant. If you’d like to ride along with someone else (assistant), we will be happy to match you with another Buckhead Rotarian so you can share in the experience.

Tail-Wag Check-In with LifeLine on April 4th

And coming up, we can make a big impact with pets and their owners at the April 4th Healthy pet event at the Fulton County Airport. It’s a rewarding, uplifting event where you will check in people and their fur-friends. Most of these people don’t have access to or can’t afford to provide the medical care needed for their animals. LifeLine fills this need and they need our help. They expect over 1,000 cats and dogs (happy and grumpy) accompanied by their people who will show up to receive everything from vaccines to chipping with multiple vets on site performing the procedures.

Buckhead Rotary is sponsoring this event, and we want as many members as possible to show up in force and volunteer. Most of us will help at check-in but there are other duties available if you are interested. Or just come and support us and see the impact being made in the community. Orientation is at 8:45 am with free bagels, donuts, coffee and a clipboard. Come out and enjoy the weather, get in a few belly rubs and cat purrs and help make a difference in the community. This will be a feline fine and dandy event.
