Big month, Buckhead Rotary. Last week we wrote a $2,500 check to Revved Up Kids, putting real dollars behind our commitment to end human trafficking and protect local youth — a direct result of Alli Neal's talk at our October 5 meeting. That's Service Above Self in action.
Mark your calendar: no lunch meeting Monday, October 12 (Columbus Day) — take the day off. But the following Monday is important... that's when your Board meets to discuss a proposed bylaws change opening Director eligibility to members after one year in the Club (plus Red Badge completion), instead of two. It's a meaningful shift in our leadership pipeline, so talk to your Directors and Officers before the vote.
In between, grab a drink at Thirsty Thursday, October 15, at Jim Floyd's house — 5:30 to 7:30, please register in advance : [CLICK HERE TO REGISTER]
Monday, October 19 is also our Celebrating World Polio Day meeting, with Dr. Debra Houry, former CDC Chief Medical Officer — ahead of the real World Polio Day on Saturday, October 24.
Then start hunting for a costume — Glow Chastain hits October 30, our first chance to meet the Horizons Atlanta scholars face to face, and they will get to vote on their favorite Buckhead Rotarian costume: [CLICK HERE TO REGISTER]
